Perhaps the first ever delay of game for a bat (the animal, not the baseball equipment) occurred on, ironically, Halloween night as the San Antonio Spurs beat the Sacramento Kings 113-94. In fact, the Spurs' Manu Ginobili showed his quick hands off, by capturing the bat.The bat first appeared in the first quarter at San Antonio's AT&T Center. The bat left shortly after play was stopped, but returned. Ginobili performed a seemingly amazing trick, as he swatted the bat out of the air with a bare hand. He then carried the creature off the court as the crowd cheered.
Ginobili said, "When you can't dunk anymore, you have to find a way to make it into the news. So that's what I did. I grabbed a bat. I didn't think it was a big deal."
It's unclear what happened to the bat after it exited the court. Watch the video below:

Great stuff as usual...This is so awesome! I love the way everyone else is just kinda walking away and Manu smacks the bat down. I love the way he whirls around and slams it to the floor..thanks
