Tony Romo Dumps Jessica Simpson: Report

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo, and his celebrity girlfriend, Jessica Simpson, are no more. At least, that's the story according to E!

Worse for Jessica Simpson, she was the dumpee, and Tony Romo was the dumper. Many Cowboys fans may be happy, as Simpson was considered a jinx after a game in December 2007 in which Romo had a horrible game when she attended.

Jessica Simpson had planned to throw a Barbie and Ken-themed party for her birthday, but it fell through, and that makes sense. After all, Ken, er, Romo broke up with her the night before. According to a message she wrote on her Twitter page Saturday. "Barbie party didn't happen, but I turned 29 and feel like I am on top of the world yelling I LOVE GETTING OLDER!"

A source told E!:

"She was surprised. She wouldn't have planned a party if she knew this was coming. They're both going their separate ways."

People confirmed the break-up, as well. A source told People:

"She is heartbroken. She loves Tony. But it's been difficult lately. He's busy with his career and she's getting ready to shoot her show (The Price of Beauty). They decided to part ways."
