Police Find Diprivan in Jackson's Home

The powerful sedative Diprivan, which we wrote about earlier in connection with Michael Jackson, has been found in the late singer's home, a law enforcement official said Friday.

Earlier, Cherilyn Lee, a nutritionist who was working with Michael Jackson in preparation for his comeback tour, said she repeatedly rejected his requests for Diprivan, which is given intravenously. He reportedly sought the drug to aid in treating his persistent insomnia.

Dirpivan is an anesthetic widely used in operating rooms to induce unconsciousness. It is very unusual to have the drug in a private home. The law enforcement official spoke to AP on condition of anonymity, as he was not authorized to speak on the matter.

The cause of Jackson's death has not been determined. While autopsy results have been released, toxicology results are not expected for several weeks.
