Man Kills Himself at FL Gun Range

This is reminiscent of an incident in April in which a woman with a history of mental illness shot both her son and herself at a gun range. In this case, 43-year-old Valentin Pepelea turned a gun on himself at a Florida gun range on Wednesday.

The shooting happened at Rieg's Gun Range on South Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando, FL. An employee found the victim.

Witnesses said Valentin Pepelea was shooting for a while, but then turned the weapon on himself at about 6:40 PM. Supposedly Pepelea was a regular at the range.

Following the incident, Rieg's said it will only rent guns to parties of two or more. Florida law does not require background checks on people who rent guns, only on people who buy them.
