Cindy McCain, Steve Doocy: Palin "has Foreign Policy Experience Because Alaska is Close to Russia"

In response to the (valid) criticism that Sarah Palin has no foreign policy experience, both Fox News and Cindy McCain have pulled a talking point out of their hats.

First, on the August 29th Fox and Friends, Faux News pundit Steve Doocy responded to none other than co-host Brian Kilmeade's assertion that Joe Biden “is going to capitalize” in a debate with Palin because “she has no international relations experience, she’s not the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee.”
Bob Beckel: Doesn't need it. John McCain, that's supposedly his strength.

Doocy: But the other thing about her, she does know about international relations because she is right up there in Alaska right next door to Russia.

Then, Sunday on ABC's This Week, Cindy McCain (also a brain trust), said the following in response to a comment by George Stephanopoulous:

Stephanopoulous: But she has no national security experience.

McCain: You know, the experience that she comes from is, is, with what she’s done in government, and also remember, Alaska is the closest part of our continent to Russia. So, it’s not as if she doesn’t understand what’s at stake here.

So this is how they are going to position her foreign policy experience? It's because of the "position" of Alaska to Russia? Let's not forget, Alaska's right next to Canada, too. Oooh.

People should be thinking this way: John McCain is 72. Do you want someone who's been a mayor of a village of 8500 people and the governor of a state smaller than 16 American cities ... and for less that two years, mind you ... in a position where she's a heartbeat away from being President?

And what executive experience has Obama ever held, much less foreign policy experience?
